Our founders have spent years working directly in the medical cannabis industry — in labs, in manufacturing, on farms. They understand this medicine from the ground up.
Medical cannabis carries a stigma that its clinical evidence doesn’t deserve. This clinic was founded on that belief, and it shapes how we approach every patient.
Breaking that stigma takes more than just prescribing; it takes education. For patients, for families, and for the wider conversation around what medical cannabis actually is and what it isn’t. Every consultation here is part of that. We take the time to explain, to answer honestly, and to make sure patients leave better informed than when they arrived; regardless of the outcome.

How much does a consultation cost?
Your first consultation is complimentary. Follow-up consultations and prescriptions are charged transparently — pricing is shared in writing before any appointment is booked. There’s no membership fee, no subscription, no surprise charges.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can come directly to us. With your consent, we’ll write to your GP to keep them in the loop after your consultation — that joined-up care is important, but the choice to share is always yours.
Is medical cannabis legal in the UK?
Yes. Medical cannabis has been legally prescribable in the UK since November 2018, under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations. It can only be prescribed by a specialist doctor on the GMC’s specialist register — which is what every clinician at Xen Health is.
What conditions do you treat?
We work across four broad areas: mental health and sleep, neurological and neurodevelopmental, chronic pain and inflammation, and gastrointestinal and autoimmune conditions. See the full list with clinical detail.
What happens if a prescription is issued?
If a specialist decides a prescription is appropriate, it is dispensed by our partner pharmacy, Blenheim, and posted to you discreetly. Typical fulfilment is within 5 working days of the consultation, and up to 7 working days for prescriptions written by a consultant.
Can I switch from another clinic?
Yes. Bring whatever documentation you have from your previous clinic. Our consultation will pick up where your existing plan left off, with your specialist reviewing the appropriateness of what you’ve been prescribed before continuing or adjusting.
